My time as a resident

From October 2022 to the end of April 2023 I was privileged to be an artist in resident at Cobb Mountain Arts and Ecology Project. During the seven months I fired at least one wood kiln every month. During this time my only obligation was cutting wood, moving wood, stacking wood and firing with wood. Most of my time was spent making pots. I was able to formulate different clay bodies, search for different natural aggregates and simply make pots. It was a wonderful time that served my work better than any other time in my life. I utilised the first few months to create my application for graduate school. The later four months was bliss. I was only making pots out of desire and the draw of making. I was able to develop forms and surfaces that excited me like never before. I recommend to any young artist gifting yourself dedicated time to make for yourself at a residency.
